Pavangad is a junction in Kozhikode in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located about 6.5 km north of Calicut on the Calicut-Kannur National Highway 17 (India) and is bounded by the Arabian Sea at the west, Canoli Canal at east and Korapuzha River at the north. The Arabian Sea lies to the west of Pavangad.State Highway 54 (Kerala) starts from Pavangad and ends in Kalpetta. The Puthiyappa Harbour is the beach side of Pavangad. Nearby cities: Westhill, Kozhikode City. Most of the automobile showrooms are located in Pavangad. Audi, Volkswagen, Nissan, Hyundai, Royal Enfield, Eicher are among them. Kozhikode KSRTC Depot and Electricity Sub station also located in Pavangad. Late Mr. K. T. Muhammed was a resident in pavangad, popularly known as KT, was a Malayalam playwright and screenwriter. He died on March 25, 2008 at Pavangad. Pavangad is a fast-growing residential area towards the northern city limits of Kozhikode. The important places in Pavangad are Puthur durga devi temple which is one of the oldest temple in Calicut, CSI Church and STATE BANK OF INDIA Pavangad Branch.
